Thing 6: Online Image Generators
I loved the trading cards. They were so easy to do. I would love to do them at the beginning of the year with staff. I need to play around a little more to figure out how to make multiple copies print on a page, but I know it should work. So I will try this. I am going to show it to my summer school teachers. I think it would be a fun activity for them to try with the kids.
Thing 5: More Flickr Fun
Okay, how much goofing off can I do. I am now addicted to Fastr - what a fun game - this is one where they keep putting pictures up of things that have the same tag in common and you try to guess the tag. I could become addicted. Useful - maybe mind stretching - but otherwise not. Great fun though. Then I tried Tagnautica - that was kind of neat the way it presented the pictures in a circle and then you click on one topic and then get a new circle of photos. Again not so sure how useful, but different. I then used Spell it with Flickr - it was so easy - I couldn't believe it. I got the image on my blog without any problems - the only thing was it took up more space than I wanted and I didn't take the time to figure out how to make it smaller.

Thing 3 - RSS Feeds
Well, I think I finally have it figured out. I struggled with this one, but after going back and rereading things a few times I think I have actually subscribed to an RSS feed. We will see what happens over time. I think this could be a very useful tool. In the past I have subscribed to a few podcasts. The problem is always finding time to go back and listen/read things.

Thing 4 - Flickr
Wow! Flickr is so neat and how cool! I couldn't believe how easy it was to learn how to use the program. I was able to post pictures to Flickr without any problem and give them a title and tags. I was also able to search through the public photos and found a picture from my small town and one from my hometown.
I took one of my photos on my computer and posted it to my blog. Thanks for the great opportunities to expand my knowledge.

Thing 2 - Library 2.0
Overwhelmed - that would be me. I do think it is important to embrace this 2.0. I believe that it will only make us more relevant to our patrons and keep us strong. Where do we get these 15 minutes a day that Stephen Abram talked about? I don't know and I would tend to argue that 15 minutes isn't near enough. For me it has to be weekends for the most part, I just don't have time during my normal working day. I hope to learn how I might use some of these new applications and which ones would really benefit my patrons. How has the Internet affected me at home and at work? I know I spend way too much time looking at a computer screen both at home and at school. The ability to have high speed Internet at home has now opened up the possibility of doing alot of my school work at home. Is this a good thing?
Thing 1
Wow! Where does the time go. I am already weeks behind. Setting up the blog was pretty easy and learning to create the Avatar was fun. I had never done an Avatar before. I like the idea of creating my own image out there in cyberspace. I am looking forward to working on some of the next 22 things.
